Hua Hin is renowned for the beach but the town is growing and attractions are plenty. The town started out from being seaside getaway of the royals and upper class Thais around 100 years ago. With Thailand bursting to the top of tourist destinations Hua Hin has become a global destination. But unlike other counterparts – Pattaya, for example – the town still has low key and relaxed vibe about it. There are a couple of walking markets sprung about and the town is gaining reputation as being a hip place. There are interesting places that show its royal connections like summer palace or the royal waiting room at train station. The western province has many allure. The province is very large and is covered a lot by jungle. The ancient city of Ayutthaya was Thailand’s capital for 417 years with 33 Kings of different dynasties ruled the kingdom. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991, Ayutthaya's historic park houses temples and ruins scattered throughout this once magnificent city and along the encircling rivers. The key temple ruins are Wat Mahathat (the one with the iconic Buddha head wrapped in the roots of a Bodhi tree), Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Mongkhon Bophit, and Wat Chaiwattanaram.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is the iconic floating market with colorfully clad merchants paddle along congested canals in sturdy canoes laden with fresh fruit and vegetables. While Maeklong Railway Market has awnings and shopfronts that will be moved back from the rails when the train approaches, and then popped forward again once the train has passed. It’s a very fun experience with the sight, sound, and smell as exotic as they come.
